In 2009, The Columbus Nanny Agency sponsored and participated in an occupational analysis research project at The Ohio State University. Four of the agency’s nannies were selected to participate in the study, which defined and assessed the essential job functions of a professional nanny. The results of the study gave an in-depth analysis of the duties, tasks, knowledge, skills, and tools that a professional nanny uses, as well as current and future childcare trends and considerations. The information gathered in this study is shared with both families and nannies of The Columbus Nanny Agency to enhance their understanding of the key skills and traits needed to be a successful nanny.
