For Families

The Columbus Nanny Agency will act as your partner in finding the right nanny for your family. We meet each nanny candidate and conduct a thorough interview. We also contact each candidate’s references. By the end of this interview, we will have assessed the nanny’s ability to care for your children as well as her personality and care giving style.

Our nannies are educated and experienced child caregivers that meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Completed high school or the equivalent

  • Eligible to work in the United States

  • Minimum 3 years of child care experience

  • 2 + child care references from non-family members

  • In good health and up-to-date on basic immunizations

  • Non-smoker

  • Certified in Pediatric CPR

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, good driving record and auto insurance

  • Satisfactory background check results including fingerprinting and drug test

Step 1

Contact us at (614) 327-0654 or maria@columbusnannies.com. We will send you our Family Application to help us get a good sense of your family’s specific needs and preferences.

Step 4

If you decide at this point to proceed with the search and placement process, an employee referral agreement will be signed and a $300 deposit/retainer will be paid to the agency

Step 2

We will speak to you on the phone or schedule a meeting to further assess the type of personality and qualifications that will best serve your family.

Step 5

You will receive a full profile of each nanny candidate. Let us know nannies you would like to interview and we will assist you in scheduling interviews, either in your home or at a location of your choosing. We will provide you with a list of interview tips and sample interview questions.

Step 3

We will share the number of prospective nannies available that meet your family’s needs and preferences. These nannies will have been through our nanny interview process and initial background screening before they are presented to you

Step 6

When you have identified the nanny you would like to hire, we will provide a sample employment agreement, payroll and tax information and other helpful resources for a successful relationship. You will also receive copies of the nanny’s background checks upon hire. Within one week of your nanny’s start date, the placement fee will be due to the agency.
